Relationship-Centered
We notice the learner’s signals, make room for choices, and adjust when they need a pause.
About Divergent Trails
Our team brings education, behavioral expertise, and family partnership together. We work with parents to understand each learner, choose meaningful goals, and build support that fits their everyday lives.

Why we began
Families should not have to connect every piece of support on their own. Divergent Trails brings behavior, learning, and family priorities into the same conversation.
Parents contribute their knowledge of the learner. Our team contributes perspectives from education, behavior analysis, and direct support. Together, we identify useful goals, share observations, and adjust as we learn.
That partnership means understandable recommendations, practical next steps, and room for questions throughout the process.

Goals begin with assessment, the learner’s strengths, and what matters to the family. We review and adjust them together.
We consider how communication, learning, and routines affect one another, so goals have a purpose beyond a session.
We explain recommendations, invite questions, and coordinate with parents and other professionals when appropriate.
We track progress, explain what we are seeing, and reconsider the plan when support is not helping.
Our commitment is to thoughtful assessment, understandable recommendations, and collaboration across the learner’s educational and family life. We explain the purpose of support and adjust it to what we learn.
The heart behind the work
Much of this work grew from sitting with families in difficult moments—when a learner was overwhelmed, when learning brought tears or refusal, or when parents and teachers felt unsure what to do next.
Those moments are not proof that a child or family has failed. They are invitations to look more closely, listen differently, and build support that fits.
When behavior is understood differently, connection follows. When connection grows, meaningful change becomes possible.
